NORTHWEST: MECHANICS FAIL TO FIND AN AGREEMENT ON NEW CONTRACT

USA, Northwest Airlines and its mechanics union failed to set an agreement on a new contract. President George W. Bush intervened Friday imposing the creation of a Presidential Emergency Board to study the dispute and that prevented the union to strike for at least another 60 days.
