CATHAY PACIFIC DOUBLES PROFITS
HONG KONG, Cathay Pacific Airways' net profit more than doubled last year, rising to $641. The record result was scored by cost-cutting measures, the strengthening economies across the region, the resulting increase in demand for both passenger and cargo services. The airline added 1100 new employees in 2000 and has ordered 17 new aircrafts for delivery by the end of 2001.
