AMERICAN AIRLINES MAKES OFFER TO BUY NORTHWEST AIRLINES
USA, American Airlines has offered $3.7 billion to purchase Northwest Airlines, but this refused because the price was too low. According to analysts American Airlines wants to buy Northwest at all costs to get access to its lucrative trans-Pacific routes, where it could then compete with United Airlines. Talks will go on in the next few days.
