NEW COMMANDER IN CHIEF FOR NATO EUROPEAN TROOPS

BRUSSELS, Ge. Dieter Stockmann was named new vice commander in chief of Nato european troops. It is a relevant appointment considered that the European Rapid Reaction Force will be ready within 2003. Stockmann could be appointed commander of the operations of those forces too. He will replace Rupert Smith from October 1.
