WESTJET PROFITS SOARED IN 2000

CANADA, Profit rose by 91% in 2000 to $30,3 million as revenue climbed 63% to $332.5 million. These high profits are basically due to the low fares offered by the Calgary-based airline. WestJet said it planned to introduce two non-stop daily flights between Calgary and Pearson by this summer.
