AIR NEW ZEALAND PROFITS COLLAPSE
NEW ZEALAND, The airline's profits nose-dived from $127 million to only $3.8 million in the first half of the financial year. Air New Zealand, which announced an overhaul of its management, attributed the profit drop to: Fuel prices at ten year highs; New Zealand and Australian dollars at all time lows against the United Stated dollar; increased competition in the Australian market.
