VIETNAM AIRLINES PLANS FLEET AND SERVICE EXPANSION

VIETNAM, The airline is drawing an aggressive investment plan for regional and international expansion. Last year it signed a letter of intent to buy three Boeing 777-200s for $US480 million. Then last month the carrier brought three ATR-72s into the fold after a $US50 million spending spree. This year the airline plans to rise passenger traffic by 12% compared with the year 2000.
