AIR AFRIQUE TO LAY OFF 2000 EMPLOYEES

ABIDJAN, IVORY COAST, During a press conference in Abidjan Jeffrey Ericsson, company's chief administrator, has announced plans to lay off some 2,000 employees - half its staff - as part of a last ditch attempt to save the debt-ridden airline from collapse.
