U.S. SENATORS ASK AIRLINES MERGER BLOCKING

USA, The U.S. committee responsible for antitrust policy, composed by Democrat and Republican senators, asked Department of Transportation (DOT) to block the latest proposed airline mergers until it completes its own review of these operations. DOT has wide latitude to intervene if it decides on its own that the deals could be against antitrust laws.
