Southwest wants US-Delta assets
Washington, USA - In case of merger between the two airlines
The possible merger between US Airways and Delta (see AVIONEWS for details) is interesting also for competitors. Southwest said it wants to buy out most of the assets that would be dismissed in case of merger. There would be routes, hangars and airplanes to dismiss and most of all there would be the chance to extend its operations in the East Coast, where the low-cost carrier is weaker. See also...
