Samara makes two Foton-m spacecraft for Esa

Moscow, Russia - Research information is brought back to the Earth by a descent module

The space rocketry Central Specialised Design Office (CSKB) Progress, based in Samara, will make and launch two unique spacecraft Foton-M on order from the European Space Agency. The first satellite is being assembled to be launched in late May 2005. The second may be launched in October 2006. The first of the two Fotons will be orbited by a Soyuz carrier rocket from Baikonur, located in Kazakhstan....
