BA TO BUY MINORITY STAKES IN EUROPEAN AIRLINES
UK, BA plans to buy minority stakes in european carriers to strengthen its position in the industry. The airline currently holds 9 per cent shareholding in Iberia, the Spanish flag carrier, and code-sharing ties with many other European airlines, including Aer Lingus and Finnair. Rod Eddington, BA's chief executive, said the other priority is to consolidate the airline's operations.
