Nearly to be completed Italian military satellite constellation Sicral

Rome, Italy - The communication system is part of the Nato Satcom post 2000 program

Within Nato Program Satcom post 2000 (see AVIONEWS article) Italy will be responsible of the 100% of the communication Nato services in UHF band, through Sicral-1 launched in 2001 and Sicral-1B in developing phase. The total value of the contract is EUR 457m, nearly one third for the Italian partner.
