Lisbon to ask Nato air surveillance for soccer championship

Lisbon, Portugal - Following the terroristic attack in Madrid, Portugal urges higher security for the event

Portugal will ask Nato to send Awacs aircraft to patrol the European soccer championship which will be held in Lisbon from 12 June to 4 August this year as well as the Rock in Rio music festival planned for 29 and 30 May and from 4 to 6 June.
