CHINESE PILOT TRIED EMERGENCY LANDING BEFORE CRASH

BEIJING, Chinese officials confirmed that the pilot of crashed airplane in China the other day had tried to make an emergency landing before the plane was struck by lighting and exploded. The pilot had tried to land on a grass strip.
