Aosta Valley: helicopters will induce artificial snow-slips

Aosta, Italy - They will operate against the snow-emergency for safer skiing courses and roads

The test of a new system which should make skiing routes and roads safer will take place next Saturday in Gressoney, in the Aosta Valley. A helicopter on stationary flight will induce an artificial snow-slip with the release of an explosive charge wich then explodes in the snow, thus avoiding the risk of unpredictable natural snow-slips. The system is considered safe, simple and fast to be executed....
