Spirit sets record of distance on Mars, but for a few inches

Washington, USA - 26,4 meters instead of the 50 expected

As already published today on AVIONEWS, the American rover Spirit tried to set a new record of distance covered on the Martian soil. The record has been set, although the robot has not covered the 50 meters expected. Spirit lingered longer than expected along the route to analyze the stones of the planet’s surface, covering a total of 88 feet, that is 26,4 meters.
