Possible merger between Snecma and Thales

Paris, France: The two French manufacturing companies are considering the idea of a union

Referring to a radio statement released today by Snecma president, the French aircraft engine manufacturing company, Jean-Paul Bechat,the firm is estimating the conditions for a possible merger with the other French giant, Thales, specialised in electronics of defence. To show interest in the Snecma privatization, which should occur in the year 2004, is also General Electric.
