RIVALS TRY TO BLOCK UAL-US AIRWAYS MERGER
USA, The four airlines, America West Airlines Inc., Continental Airlines Inc., Delta Air Lines Inc. and AMR Corp., the parent of American Airlines are asking the government to block the deal on the grounds that it would give UAL too much control over several key international routes to Canada and Europe. UAL is the parent of United Airlines, the nation's largest carrier.
