Mtu Aero Engines to overhaul German CH-53 engines

Berlin, Germany - A contract worth EUR 28m

MTU Aero Engines has communicated to have won an EUR 28m to modernize the engines of 20 Sikorsky CH-53GS helicopters; an urgent necessity as the German Defense Minister has explained, because the old General Electric T64s did not succeed to assure a high level of performances. According to the terms of the contract the MTU will overhaul and update 46 motors, because every helicopter mounts 2 engines...
