Italian army units clear military airport in Iraq
Rome, Italy - Many explosive devices were found
Air force units of the Italian contingent in Iraq finished the clearing of a mined area around Tallil airport, which is located 310 kilometres Southeast of Baghdad. The operation discovered many live bombs which Saddam Hussein's troops had put there. The by now safer airstrip is used for reconnaissance flights by military Air Force and also for possible sanitary evacuations on San Giorgio ship.
