U.S. AIRLINES TO FIGHT FLIGHT DELAYS

CHICAGO, United and Northwest are attempting to head off flights delays after blaming on disgruntled mechanics. A few days ago a federal judge barred United mechanics from disrupting flights scheduled. Federal mediators are negotiating with mechanics' union. The two airlines said the delays were caused by intentional work slowdowns by mechanics.
