Air New Zealand pilots ready to fight

Auckland, New Zealand - By a 48-hour strike starting from next Friday

Air New Zealand pilots of the union Air Line Pilots Association, said that, starting from Friday 5 they will be on strike for 48 hours. Pilots and management are struggling to find a way out since a nearly 16-month negotiation. In the attempt to boost loss-making Air New Zealand, last October 2001, Auckland government earmarked USD 366m to recapitalize the New Zealand flag air company. (007)
