NO SPARE PARTS FOR BRAZILIAN AIRFORCE

RIO DE JANEIRO, Top-ranking officers of Brazilian air force said nearly 60 percent of the service's aircraft are grounded because of a lack of spare parts, which government can't buy because it needs the International Monetary Fund assent. Gen. Carlos Baptista has declared that, on a total of 755 aircraft, 440 are grounded awaiting spare parts.
