ENVISAT, THE LARGEST EUROPEAN SATELLITE, WILL BE LAUNCHED IN THE FIRST 2002

FRASCATI, ROMA, It will be launched in the first of 2002 the largest European-built satellite, Envisat, worth over 2,3 EURbn, which will explore the Earth's surface to analyze the environmental situation which involve the planet. The satellite will be placed at 800 kms of altitude with use of an Ariane 5 booster, launched from the Kourou, French Guyana base.
