AER LINGUS CEO ANNOUNCES LAYOFFS

DUBLIN, Willie Walsh, the new ceo for Aer Lingus, announced that the company will carry on the plans aiming to eliminate more than 2000 of the 6300 employees of the airline. Walsh added that the rescue package would slash costs for $169,3 million so that the carrier would return to profit in 2003.
