BMI BRITISH MIDLAND WOULD CUT 600 JOBS

LONDON, Sources from the Transport and General Workers Union reported that BMI British Midland intends to cut 600 jobs and ground 8 large planes of its fleet. "With over 400 cabin crew members at British Midland, the T&G will be demanding involvement in the talks as to how these job cuts will be handled", said TGWU transport national secretary Tim Lyle.
