Drones and helicopters with infrared cameras to supervise Swiss borders

The Swiss Federal Council has approved today the use of remote-controlled UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) reconnaissance aircraft and Army’s Super Puma helicopters with infrared cameras by the Border Guard Corps (CGCF). Information will not be recorded, at least until the end of 2007, in order to safeguard data protection and borders security.
