Vatican City - It will be escorted also by a NATO Awacs

The journey of Pope Benedictus XVI in Poland, which will start Thursday May 25 and will end Sunday 28, will also cover the Nazi internment camp in Auschwitz and the nearby Birkenau, where the Pontiff will say a prayer for all the Shoah victims. Ratzinger’s tour will be super-escorted by 15,000 Policemen and a NATO Awacs aircraft.
