EMBRAER NET INCOME GOES UP IN 1Q

BRAZIL, Brazilian Embraer closed the first quarter of 2001 with a backlog for $23,7 billion. Accumulated net sales increased by 47,7%, reaching $756.4 million. Net income for the quarter went up by 124.2% over the first quarter of 2000.
