Frankfurt Airport’s new Summer schedule will come into force on March 30, in tandem with the changeover to daylight saving time in Germany. The coming summer season will see a total of 83 airlines flying to 275 destinations in 91 countries around the world. With more than 4,500 weekly flights overall, a total of some 829,000 seats will be available each week – five percent more than last year. This includes roughly 1,000 long-haul flights per week, underscoring Frankfurt Airport’s role as Germany’s most important international aviation hub with the largest number of intercontinental destinations. The Summer schedule runs through October 25.

In the coming Summer season, the number of flights to European destinations will continue to rise. Bulgaria's Electra Airways (EAF) is the latest newcomer to FRA: starting mid-May, the airline will offer twice-weekly flights to the Bulgarian coastal resorts of Burgas (BOJ) and Varna (VAR) in cooperation with SunExpress (XQ). British carrier easyJet (U2/EJU) is returning to Frankfurt after a five-year absence twice-daily services to Rome (FCO) and Milan Linate (LIN).

Germany's Condor (DE) airline is continuing to expand its network from FRA, adding a total of ten new routes to high-demand destinations in Germany and Europe. Following the introduction of twice-weekly services to Berlin (BER) and Hamburg (HAM) in early March, Condor is adding two daily flights to Munich (MUC) and Zurich (ZRH) and a daily flight to Vienna (VIE) for the new summer schedule. To coincide with the start of the local Easter school holidays, Condor will launch a new route to Rome (FCO). From there, the service will continue to Palermo (PMO) in Sicily. Other popular European city destinations served by Condor from May include Paris (CDG), Prague (PRG), and Milan Malpensa (MXP). In the same month, the airline will also begin flights to Larnaca (LCA) on the island of Cyprus.

In addition to Europe, Condor is also enhancing its long-haul network from FRA for the coming summer season. As a new addition, the airline will offer twice-weekly flights to Panama City (PTY) starting June 11. Condor's flight schedule will feature Johannesburg (JNB) in South Africa and Bangkok (BKK) in Thailand as year-round destinations from this summer. Starting in July, Condor plans to fly three times a week via BKK to Sanya (SYX), providing a new route to this holiday destination on the Chinese island of Hainan.

The Lufthansa Group is also adding new destinations from Frankfurt this summer. Air Dolomiti (EN), one of the Group's regional airlines, will be flying to Figari (FSC) on the island of Corsica every Saturday from May 17. The Group’s leisure carrier, Discover Airlines (4Y), is expanding its flights to destinations in Greece: the airline will offer a weekly service to Kefalonia (EFL), the gateway to the Ionian islands, from the end of May, and to Kalamata (KLX) on the Peloponnese peninsula from late June. Those who prefer Europe’s far north can take advantage of Discover’s twice-weekly service to Kittilä (KTT) in Finnish Lapland, with this route now available year-round. Austrian Airlines (OS) continues to offer flights to Linz (LNZ) on the Danube. This service was reintroduced for the winter timetable and will continue in the summer with up to four daily flights. Lufthansa (LH) itself plans to resume five weekly flights to Bydgoszcz (BZG) in northern Poland from the end of April. Also beginning in April, Lufthansa will reintroduce twice-weekly flights to Lamezia Terme (SUF) on southern Italy’s Mediterranean coast.

Meanwhile, Air Astana (KC) from Kazakhstan is expanding its offerings from Frankfurt with three weekly flights to Almaty (ALA).
