Aircraft: the curious livery for Transavia's 60th anniversary
A new A-321neo with a retro look will be delivered in the Summer, ahead of the October celebrations
As part of its 60th anniversary celebrations, which will take place on 21 October 2025, Transavia (part of the Air France-KLM conglomerate), has announced the integration of a new Airbus A-321neo special variant into its fleet. This aircraft, featuring a retro-inspired livery, will be delivered next Summer. The airline described the event as a significant moment in its historical evolution.
The livery is in fact inspired by the brand designed by Dutch designer Thijs Postma in 1966. He was the creator of the iconic green color and the large black T on the fuselage and tail: the first recognizable style of Transavia, which will also be replicated on the current new Airbus. However, the airplane will include the modern interiors of the latest Airbus models.
Significant comment from CEO Marcel de Nooijer: "Celebrating our 60th anniversary is a moment to reflect on what we have achieved together. The arrival of a new Airbus with a retro livery is our way of looking back with pride at what has brought us to where we are now. While at the same time looking forward to a more peaceful future thanks to the renewal of our fleet".
The announcement on the status of the renewal of the Transavia fleet was made on 16 December, with the delivery of the seventh A-321neo marking the beginning of the phase-out of its old Boeing B-737/700 airplanes.
