Terrorist collaborator wanted in the US arrested on plane at Malpensa
He supplied extremist organizations with electronic components for the production of drones
He was stopped by the police of the Digos of Milan while on board a commercial airplane he was transiting in Italy at Malpensa airport. The 38-year-old Iranian citizen -a note informs- "was arrested for extradition purposes in execution of a provision of the judicial authority of the United States, because he is accused of criminal association aimed at violating the International Emergency Economic Power Act, a US federal law that gives the US President the power to identify any threat originating outside the country".
The man is also accused of providing material support to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRCG), a foreign terrorist organization, by supplying electronic components for the construction of lethal weapons (drones).
"The foreigner was stopped with the collaboration of the police officers of the Border Police Office at the Milan-Malpensa airport and with the coordination of the Central Directorate of Prevention Police-Service for the Countering of Extremism and External Terrorism and Interpol - Service for International Police Collaboration (SCIP)". In the luggage of the detainee, several electronic components compatible with the crimes contested by the US Court of Justice, paper documents of investigative interest and three electronic devices in his possession were found and seized.
The judges of the Court of Appeal of Milan validated the arrest and the man was placed in pre-trial detention in prison.
