Romania strengthens its F-16 fleet with three additional aircraft from Norway

Three F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft purchased by Romania from the Kingdom of Norway landed on Friday, December 13, at the 71st "General Emanoil Ionescu" Air Base in Câmpia Turzii, to equip the 48th Fighter Squadron. This was announced by the Romanian Ministry of Defense.
The purchase of the new batch and the related package of goods and services will strengthen the country's security, the note reports it, by defending the national/NATO airspace in peacetime and in crisis situations, through participation in the Alliance-led Permanent Combat Air Police Service.
With the three additional aircraft, the 48th Squadron operates a total of fifteen F-16s, all purchased from Norway.
