Air Serbia launches Belgrade-Guangzhou direct flight
It expands Asian routes with new connection to China
Air Serbia has launched a new direct route Belgrade-Guangzhou, with the inaugural flight JU988 taking off at 00:20. This new air link marks the second destination in China for the Serbian national carrier, significantly expanding its Asian network. Flights to the Chinese metropolis, also known as the "Gateway to South China", will be operated twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, using A-330/200 aircraft, part of the airline's long-haul fleet.
The company's CEO, Jiri Marek, commented on the launch of this service as a further step forward in the resumption of operations between Serbia and China, which began in December 2022 with the Tianjin connection. According to the CEO, the inclusion of Guangzhou not only enhances the company's offering but also stimulates vital economic and cultural exchanges between the two countries. Guangzhou is one of China's most vibrant economic hubs, attractive not only for the business segment but also for tourism, thanks to its proximity to vital centers such as Hong Kong and Macau, thus amplifying the appeal for those wishing to explore the Greater Bay Area and its rich cultural traditions.
