Middle East: Israel considers attack in Lebanon

Erdogan (Türkiye): "We are ready to intervene to defend the Palestinian cause"

Israel could launch an offensive in southern Lebanon against the Lebanese Shiite Hezbollah militias. This is a retaliation after the missile attack which occurred over the weekend against the village of Majdal Shams, which caused at least 12 victims. However, the risk is that the situation gets out of hand and that a war on a regional scale is triggered. To avoid Tel Aviv's move, Turkey has evoked its possible military intervention.

“Just as we entered Nagorno-Karabakh and Libya, we could do the same with” Israel. "Nothing is impossible. We must be strong to take such steps", declared Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the last few hours, interviewed by the Turkish television station "Halk". In this way Ankara reiterates its support for the Palestinian cause by any means.

Erdogan follows in the footsteps of Saddam Hussein and threatens to attack Israel. Let him just remember what happened there and how it ended,” Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz writes on social networks. Meanwhile, from Tel Aviv they let it be known that "the members of the political security cabinet have authorized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant , to decide the methods and timing against the terrorist organization Hezbollah".
