About ten drones and helicopters and hundreds of cameras. Everything is ready for the opening ceremony of the next 2024 Olympic Games which will be held in France from Friday 26 July to Sunday 11 August. The inauguration of the sporting competition is scheduled with a breathtaking spectacle that will take place along the Seine River in Paris. Meanwhile, the airports have strengthened their reception services for passengers.
"The live broadcast of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games will be one of the most complicated productions to date", says Yiannis Exarchos, CEO of the International Olympic Committee's Olympic Broadcasting Services.
Indeed, France has an ambitious plan for the inauguration: athletes from all over the world will make their triumphal entry by boat along the Seine, while at least 50,000 fans will gather on the banks of the river to witness this historic event. The ceremony will be immortalized by eight drones, three helicopters, over 230 cameras and more than 200 mobile phones positioned along the entire route. There are around 400 people on the field for the event which will take place on 26 July.
