Italy. Venice airport: stewardess injured by passenger
Police intervention against annoying traveller who had forgotten his boarding pass
A passenger attacked and injured a hostess at the "Marco Polo" Italian airport of Venice-Tessera. It all arose from an argument between the airport employee and the traveller, who forgot to print the boarding pass. The Italian police intervened to break up the dispute. Meanwhile, trade unions are calling for greater protection for airport workers.
It was reported by the Italian newspaper "La Nuova Venezia". According to a brief reconstruction of the event, the traveler had gone to the desk of the Spanish low-cost airline Volotea to check in, but had forgotten his ticket. An airline hostess pointed out to him that he would have to print the boarding pass at the price of 30 euros, as required by the company's rules. At that point the situation escalated.
The episode occurred on Sunday, June 23, 2024, around noon. This is just one of the numerous cases of annoying passengers that are recorded every day worldwide. Also in Venice, at the end of 2023, the pilot of a plane was forced to divert a flight and make an emergency landing at "Marco Polo" airport due to three drunk travellers.
