Russia-North Korea military agreement

Putin: "We fight against hegemonic US and NATO policies against Moscow"

A treaty for strategic military cooperation between Russia and North Korea was signed. The agreement would have been signed in these hours by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on the occasion of Russian President Vladimir Putin's official visit to Pyongyang. The North Korean politician "praised Russia's role in preserving the global strategic balance and expressed support for the special military operation" against Ukraine.

It was announced by Russian news agencies, including "Interfax" and "Tass". The media report that Russia "does not rule out military-technical cooperation" with North Korea "in accordance with the document signed today". The partnership agreement also provides for "mutual assistance in the event of aggression against one of the signatories", said the Kremlin's leader.

Meanwhile, as announced by "Tass", President Putin has made it known that Moscow is fighting "against decades of hegemonic and imperialist policies of the United States and its satellites against Russia". The Moscow-Pyongyang agreement should be read in this light, which "will serve as the basis for long-term bilateral relations", in view of a "next meeting" between the two leaders which "will take place in Russia, in Moscow".
