Monthly aircraft deliveries by the European manufacturer Airbus are decreasing. According to data recorded in May, the company supplied 53 airplanes. A performance that marks a decrease of -16% compared to the same month of the previous year. Looking further ahead to 2024, from January 1st to May 31st, 256 aircraft will arrive at the customers who ordered them.

Demand for aircraft from industry operators remains strong as air transport is experiencing a strong post-pandemic recovery. However, supplies of new aircraft do not seem to live up to airline expectations, particularly from US plane manufacturer Boeing, which is struggling with production restrictions imposed by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

It is a situation that demonstrates the existence of a generalized difficulty at a global level, also caused by problems in the supply chains of aeronautical components and raw materials. Airbus' industrial plan includes a delivery target of 800 units over the year for 2024, while the May target was around 60 deliveries. A "setback" for investors, which however does not discourage the European Group.
