Indian billionaires' party: 1200 arrivals in Italy airport
Not only small business aircraft at Genoa, but also large private aircraft such as B-747s and A-340s
The Italian pre-wedding party in Portofino between Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, children of two Indian billionaire dynasties, is certainly one of the marriage of the year. This is demonstrated not only by the amount spent for these celebrations in one of the most evocative location worldwide, but also by the number of private planes landed at the "Cristoforo Colombo" airport of Genoa-Sestri. Over 1000 guests were invited to the party on the cruise ship and in the streets of the town.
"Between 2 and 3 June the apron of the Genoa airport saw the presence of numerous aircraft of unusually large dimensions compared to the ordinary activity of the 'Cristoforo Colombo'. In particular, for the transport of over 1200 people, the following were involved widebody: two B-747s, two B-767s, two A-340s and one B-757", on reads in a note from Genoa Airport company.
"In addition to the large aircraft mentioned above -the note continues- six B-737s, an A-319 and eight of the most modern Business Jets on the market were involved. The Colombo management company guaranteed the handling, security, reception, catering through a reinforced operational presence like the State bodies (Italian Enac, police forces, customs agency) which have operated tirelessly".
