Comac increases production of C-919 aircraft
Construction of a new factory in Shanghai announced
Chinese state-owned manufacturer Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac) will build a new plant for the production of C-919 aircraft. It is a move that aims to accelerate production capacity to satisfy new orders arriving from airlines. The plant will be built in the city of Pudong, near Shanghai, and will have a surface area of 330,000 square meters.
This is what the China Aviation Planning and Design Institute (Group) Group communicates, a services company that recently revealed on social networks that it has "won the tender for the second phase of the aircraft production capacity development project large passenger C-919".
Beijing's goal is to reach an annual production capacity of 150 aircraft within the next five years. To date, the C-919 aircraft has obtained more than 1000 orders, mainly from Chinese companies and aircraft leasing companies. There are currently five examples of this model in service operating on national routes.
