Thai Airways orders 45 new planes

Indiscretion will be confirmed by the end of this month

Thailand's national carrier Thai Airways has reportedly placed an order for 45 B-787 aircraft. The order would also contain an option that provides for the potential purchase of another 25 aircraft of the same model, increasing the volume of the request to approximately 80 aircraft.

It was revealed by the "Reuters" news agency, which relaunched the rumors that appeared in some Thai media. According to the latter, the agreement will be made official by the end of February 2024. A contract for the purchase of 45 B-787s is already present in the public order book of the Boeing Group, but the name of the customer does not appear. In this regard, the American manufacturer has neither denied nor confirmed.

It is a move with which the airline aims to satisfy the growing demand for international travel from its customers. The Thai Airways company today has a fleet of 70 aircraft in service: 20 A-320/200s, then 17 A-350s, to which are added 22 B-777s and 8 B-787s, finally three A-330s; to these are added another 24 aircraft still to be delivered.
