R-44 Raven II helicopter crashes in Chile
Ex-president on board, the only victim of the four on board
A Robinson R-44 Raven II helicopter crashed yesterday afternoon (local time) in Lago Ranco, in the southern part of Chile. The aircraft of a private operator, registration CC-PHP, MSN 11776, was carrying four people, a victim, the remaining three were rescued, while the rotary wing aircraft was destroyed.
Other details about to the departure and arrival airport, which type of flight and in what phase the accident occurred are not known yet, information available only from news, social media or unofficial sources. The only certainty is the presence on board of the ex-president Sebastian Pinera, owner of the aircraft, as also confirmed by the national DGAC (Directorate General of Civil Aviation).
