ITA Airways: 10 million euros seized
Labor Court rules in favor of 71 ex-Alitalia employees who have now been rehired
A judge of the Labor Court would have seized a sum equal to 9.441 million euros present in the accounts of the national carrier ITA Airways. This would be money deposited in an airline current account at the Crédit Agricole banking institution. The reason? They would be used to pay the back wages of 71 employees of the former state company Alitalia, who won their case for re-employment in the new ITA.
The Italian newspaper "la Repubblica" reported it today. The foreclosure is the result of a ruling which saw the company ITA Airways succumb. Now the company should pay the compensation to these workers who on 15 October 2021, the day of the birth of the new national carrier, had not been reabsorbed despite the employment application submitted, and had been left on redundancy payments until today.
