Poland wants to be a key NATO country
Tusk: "We will return to our rightful place within the EU"
The Government of Poland reiterated its aim to take a leading position in the defense sector in the European Union. The strategy to reach this goal is to transform itself into a strong ally of the United States, becoming the hinge between the East and West of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
"I guarantee you that we will return to our rightful place in the European Union" by calling on all MPs to "rebuild Poland's position" in the world, said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a speech to the Polish parliament today.
It's a move which, by opening up cooperation with other states, marks the end of his country's self-isolation in the international context. Among his first visits abroad, the Polish prime minister announced his presence in Brussels for the European summit and in Tallinn, Estonia, for a meeting with the prime ministers of the Baltic countries.
