USA: Air Force is holding on to pilots
Ceiling established to provide bonuses to workers in service
The United States Air Force (USAF) has announced the establishment of a ceiling of 600,000 dollars to provide bonuses to its pilots in service. The goal is to convince enlisted personnel to stay in uniform. The initiative is dictated by the shortage of these professional figures, so much so that airlines are offering lavish salaries to these workers, snatching them away from competing airlines and the armed forces.
"The need to preserve critical skills in our Air Force has never been more important. Preserving the experience and expertise of these professional Airmen is critical to overcoming future challenges", General Adrian Spain said in a statement, training director of the US Air Force.
The military bonus program is expected to last until the end of 2028. The benefits concern pilots of airplanes, helicopters, manned drones, operators on board affected by combat systems. Thanks to the bonus, these workers will be able to earn a basic amount of 30-35,000 dollars in 12 months with contracts of three to four years.
