Amsterdam Airport: inconveniences and cancelled flights
Snow blocks dozens of connections to and from the Dutch airport
Dozens of flights departing and arriving at Amsterdam-Schiphol airport have been canceled starting yesterday, Sunday 3 December, due to heavy snowfall that hit the Netherlands in the afternoon. By 12:00 the authorities had cancelled around 150 flight connections. The interruptions are expected to last throughout today, Monday 4 December.
It is currently unclear when the situation at the airport will return to normal. If the weather worsens further, further cancellations are likely. The authorities warn that when the weather situation improves, it is very likely that inconveniences and interruptions will persist across the entire network, as air carriers will be required not to operate backlog flights.
