American Airlines announced in the last few hours that it had temporarily suspended all air connections between the US airports and the "David Ben Gurion" international airport in Tel Aviv. It's a move decided after the escalation of violence in the Middle East between Israelis and Palestinians. To date, over 40 companies have canceled scheduled flights to and from Israel. 

"We will continue to work closely with our partner airlines to offer assistance to those wishing to leave Tel Aviv, ensuring passengers and crews on board that safety will remain our top priority", the airline said in a statement. The temporary stop to flights announced by American Airlines will remain in effect until December 4th.
