USA: possible aid to Kiev and Israel
Kirby: "We are a strong country to support both Ukraine and Tel Aviv"
The US administration led by President Joe Biden is considering including funding for Ukraine in the urgent request for aid to be sent to Israel, following the escalation of violence with the Palestinians. The White House's goal is to increase the chances that the US Congress will approve the allocation of additional funds to provide military support to Kiev, despite growing opposition from House Republicans.
This was revealed by the American newspaper "Washington Post", which quotes two senior US administration officials. The far-right Republicans are strongly opposed to new aid to Ukraine, but National Security Council spokesman John Kirby assured that "American support for Kiev will continue, and that Washington is a country strong enough to support both the Ukraine than Israel".
